The double ikat Telia Rumal overlay is handwoven in 100% cotton by master weavers of this craft. Taking inspiration from the Chapans and Khilats of Central Asia, these are lined with hand block printed fabrics. Telia Rumal is referred to the checked pattern in ikat from Andhra Pradesh, known to be used by fishermen as a head cloth to keep them cool at sea.
